Pomeranian Rhapsody

In case you hadn’t noticed, Queen will be touring again this year. One gig in Poland, Gdansk Shipyard, Saturday 20th September. Wasn’t that where Jean Michel Jarre had his concert? I hope they don’t do all that embarrassing “We love Solidarity!” chit chat. Anyway, tickets are on sale from next week and we intend to get a couple so we’ll see you there!

Best news is that Paul Rogers is taking the place of Freddie. He was the singer with Bad Company and I was a big Bad Company fan back in the day. :)

One of these days I’ll be able to do this without dragging my arse to Gdansk!

  1. I know! This post was aimed at the over 40’s, which is probably just me! :)

Bad Company are from 1974 and came out of ‘Free’, ‘Mott The Hoople’ and ‘King Crimson’, managed by the guy who managed Led Zep. My first Queen album (and still one of their best) was bought in 1973.

All a long time ago now, but back in fashion!

Also bought tickets to see the 60 yr old Santana in Warsaw. For the youngsters, we have two tickets (wife and 5yr old daughter) to see ‘Feel’ in April in the Sala Kongresowa. Funny, but very shortly after I ranted about the seating in SK, they closed it down for urgent renovations, so we don’t know if the venue will change or not!! :)

  2. The venue will not change so fast because the Palac Kultury is now a protected “zabytek” (historic memorial building ?) and it will take much longer until they modernize the sala kongresowa and change the seating arrangement (less chairs more space between them)…
