The quick & easy trip test

without comments

We’re off to England tomorrow for the weekend to see family and friends and this is going to be the test run for the latest version of the “quick trip to the UK”.

We’re flying with bmibaby from Warsaw (Etiuda) to East Midlands. Last time we travelled, we used EasyJet and I commented in here that it “Is possibly a bad enough experience for me to pay double the price and get an allocated seat next time we fly”. Well, nobody pisses me off and gets my money twice, so EasyJet can go swivel because we’re now bmibaby fans. Not only do I get to choose my seats (at a cost) but I also get to fly to an airport that is considerably closer to my family than is Luton. Even better, the overall cost of the trip (including allocated seats and baggage charges) was pretty much the same as TrudnoJet. We’ve paid 1,025 PLN (240 squids) for the three of us, return.

So, the flight SHOULD be easier. At the other end we’re getting picked up by my father, so that’s easier and cheaper than hiring a car, and because it’s a short trip we will hopefully be able to limit baggage to just one large holdall, as opposed to three large suitcases!

In theory then, a fast, easy and cheap way to pop over to the UK and see the folks. I’ll let you know if it actually turned out that way when we get back.
